Director Profiles

 

 

  • Chairman – Mr ONA Braime Ma (oxon)

 

Nicholas Braime joined the company in 1972 after graduating from Oxford with an MA in Modern History. Initally Nicholas trained in the drawing office and production departments, while doing day release engineering courses at Kitson college before continuing his formal studies, with a diploma in managment studies at Leeds Metropolitan University.

 

In 1976, Nicholas moved to the sales and distribution business, taking on the responsibility for developing the sales of components used in the bulk material handling industry. In 1984 he moved to the USA to set up a branch office of the new subsidiary 4B Elevator Components Ltd, before returning to the UK in 1987 to take responsibility as Sales Director for Braime Pressings Ltd.

 

Although Nicholas has experience in working in all parts of the company, his primary contribution has been the development of the range of material handling components which are marketed globally under the brand 4B.

 

Nicholas was elected Chairman in 1987. He is responsible for the operational management of the company and for developing group strategy.

 

 

  • Finance Director – Mr DH Brown FCA

 

David qualified as a chartered accountant in 1972 before moving into industry. He joined the company in 1981, was appointed company secretary in 1981 and took on the role of finance director in 1987.

 

David is responsible for all financial aspects of the company's strategy and operations.

 

 

  • Commercial Director – Mr AQ Braime ACA

 

Alan qualified as a chartered accountant in 2006 and susbsequently left KPMG to join Braime. During his time at Braime he has worked in a number of areas across the group. Alan was appointed a director in August 2010.

 

 

  • Sales Director – Mr CO Braime BSc MA

 

Carl joined the company in 2003 and was initially posted to work in the South American market. He returned to the UK office in 2006 as a sales manager in the material handling division. Carl was appointed a director in August 2010.

 

 

  • Non Executive Director – Mr PJ Alcock


Peter Alcock graduated from Mc Gill university Montreal in 1959 with a first class degree in mechanical engineering. He has over 3 decades of experience having been Chairman and managing director of Hunslet (Holdings) Ltd for 32 years. Peter is a fellow of the Institute of Directors and other current appointments include Chairing the board of the Leeds Training Trust.

 

Peter has been a non executive director of T.F & J.H. Braime (Holdings) plc for 11 years and the company continues to value his extensive knowledge and contribution.

 

  • Non Executive Director – Mr AW Walker


Andrew Walker is currently a director or partner of DWF LLP and Moorlands School Ltd. In the past five years Andrew has been a director of Leeds Financial Services Limited, Moorlands School Limited, Pinsent Curtis and Watson Burton LLP.

Andrew joined the board in March 2010.
